SON CENTER UGANDA.

END OF SEPTEMBER REPORT 2009.

2 Corinthians 3:5 “Not that we are sufficient of our selves to think any thing as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God”. We must appreciate God for the far He has brought us and still believe that He will take us to greater heights forward and up wards. The following activities were planned in the month of September.

  • Prison ministry
  • Door  to Door ministry
  • Follow up.
  • Children’s bible study.
  • School ministry
  • Career guidance
  • Life skills training.
  • Positive parenting.
  • Hospital ministry
  • Sensitization against HIV/AIDS and Malaria.

PRISON MINISTRY.

We have no words good enough to express to our God for the grace He gave unto us.  The ministry was carried out every Thursday and Sundays, and there was a total of 240 prisoners who attended the sessions. This contributes to 90% of the prisoners who were reached.

DOOR TO DOOR MINISTRY.

This was so exciting to reach out for Door to Door Evangelism. We were so much excited to work with a team of youths in Mukono district, we visited 10 families carefully explaining the basis of our faith and their need to accept Jesus as personal Redeemer and 4 Adults and 3 children gave their lives to Jesus. We believe that community transformation can best be done when community members change their behaviors and develop a positive attitude towards God.

SCHOOL MINISTRY.

We reached 2 Schools and 240 students in one of the schools we visited attended bible study and 46 gave their lives to Jesus in Mother care Nursery and Primary school.

The secondary school we visited had over 100 members in the Christian union. But 20 students turned up for the fellowship. We appreciate God for the great work.

CAREER GUIDANCE.

140 students from Primary, Secondary and University attended a session that was organized and intended to pray for candidates. A meal was organized, guests were invited to preside over the function. We appreciate God for the great time we had during the day and we believe it yielded a lot especially to the students/candidates who are about to sit for their final Examinations.

FOLLOW UP.

This was done and we visited the Lady who was addicted to drugs. We found out that there is a great improvement and she now spends most of her time doing constructive business that can sustain the family. The lady was giving her testimony and was grateful to God for His strong hand upon her life. She stopped drinking and smoking and no longer has time to involve herself in drugs.

The Lord is transforming the life of this Lady.

CHILDREN BIBLE STUDY.

150 children attended bible study. Most of the children have had a great impact through the bible study sessions that we conduct and we have always encouraged the adults to be involved in helping children at this tender age because they get along with any thing that is exposed to them as being young children.

LIFE SKILLS TRAINING.

We have four Ladies who spend time at the office helping train others skills in making hand made materials like door mats and other crafts. We have some body who volunteers to train people in making door mats.

The others two gentlemen are involved in carpentry which also helps them get some money for prison ministry and their own families.

HOSPITAL MINISTRY.

We visited the main Hospital in the nearby town and prayed for some patients. Still some volunteers get part of the money they are supposed to use and buy drugs and some few essential items like sugar and food that may be needed and this is given to the very needy caretakers in hospital.

SENSITIZATION ON HIV/AIDS.

This has always been integrated with gospel especially during prison ministry. Many have been encouraged especially those who are affected after hearing teachings from volunteers about positive living. However many need testing but because we have no facilities it becomes hard.

THE SOCCER TEAM.

We have a team that reaches out to the people through games and sports.

They organize matches and during this time a few minutes are spared to share the gospel before the match. We also have the girl’s team .However these teams still lack uniforms, shoes and other materials that can help them to train effectively like soccer balls, cones, netballs among others. Any assistance to take this team to another level is welcome.

APPRECIATION.

We appreciate God for the ability we had to do all we could during the month and continue to believe that greater heights will be reached. There has been quite many challenges but our God is still faithful and has never left us alone. We appreciate as a team for all the support.

Thank you.

Son Center Uganda.

END OF AUGUST REPORT 2009.

  • Life skills training.
  • Positive parenting.
  • Hospital ministry

PRISON MINISTRY.

This took 70% of the activities that were carried out in the month of August and this was because of the need and increase of crime in different areas.30 Prisoners attended the sessions integrated with counseling for the first three Sundays and 90% of the prisoners attended  on 4th  Sunday and this was an amazing number compared to the previous times/sessions; however  so many prisoners attended every Thursday.

FOLLOW UP .

This was done and we visited the Lady who was addicted to drugs. We found out that there is a great improvement and she now spends most of her time doing constructive business that can sustain the family. She no longer has time to involve herself in drugs.

The Lord is transforming the life of this Lady. Glory be to Him.

CHILDREN BIBLE STUDY.

Most of the children have had a great impact through the bible study sessions that we conduct and we have always encouraged the adults to be involved in helping children at this tender age because they get along with any thing that is exposed to them as being young children.

LIFE SKILLS TRAINING.

We have four Ladies who spend some time at the office helping train others skills in making hand made materials like door mats and other crafts that can help them to sustain themselves.

The others two gentlemen are involved in carpentry which also helps them get some money for ministry.

HOSPITAL MINISTRY.

We visited the main Hospital in the nearby town and prayed for some of the patients .We continue to believe for their healing. Some volunteers get part of the money they are supposed to use and buy drugs and some few essential items like sugar and food that may be needed and this is given to the very needy caretakers in hospital. However a lot is required to enhance their survival.

SENSITIZATION ON HIV/AIDS.

This has always been integrated with gospel especially during prison ministry. Many have been encouraged especially those who are affected after hearing teachings from volunteers about positive living.

We would like to appreciate God for this program and we know He will expand it even to greater heights.

THE SOCCER TEAM.

We have a team that reaches out to the people through games and sports.

They organize matches  and during this time a few minutes are spared to share the gospel before the match. We also have the girl’s team .However these teams lack uniforms, shoes and other materials that can help them to train effectively like soccer balls, cones, netballs among others. Any assistance to take this team to another level is welcome.

CONCLUSION.

We appreciate the Lord for the great mercies and continue to believe him for the programs that have not kicked off.We had no digital camera to take pictures during the events but all work for the good. Most of the challenges we had, God has used people to help and we are so appreciate also for Son Center International for the great work. God bless you mightly.

 END OF JULY REPORT 2009.
Objectives for the month /planned activities.

We take the initiative to appreciate the great mercies from the Lord for the wonderful ministry we experienced .The following activities were planned in the month of July.

  • Prison ministry
  • Follow up on  Orphans and vulnerable children
  • Children’s bible study.
  • School ministry
  • Career guidance
  • Youth reproductive health.
  • Life skills training.
  • Positive parenting.
  • Hospital ministry
  • Sensitization against HIV/AIDS and Malaria.

PRISON MINISTRY.

We decided to concentrate much on prison ministry during  the month of July because of the high crime rate that was realized  among other challenges. So many youths were found in the prison centers we preached.

We conducted bible study, guidance and counseling in Bugembe prison area and 104 prisoners attended the sessions and 200 in the other prisons remained unattended to because of inadequate facilitation in terms of Transport, Not having enough man power, some prisons are not easily accessible due to rigidity of prison authorities.

We need Transport facilitation for more volunteers to the prison stations. Training of more volunteers to attain specific skills to handle prisoners, convincing of prison authorities, making of appointments and processing of permission letters.

Sensitization of   the people about the importance of salvation.

In our interaction and tour of the prison ward we found out  that the prisoners do not enjoy a place of comfort  though they have to be exposed to factors that help to transform them, they raised some of their challenges grievances as follows:

Life in the prison is not easy because of;

  • Lice which is as a result of lack of insecticides to spray their rooms, they sleep in areas  which are exposed to breeding of lice and ticks.
  • Poor feeding is common in prisons here and some times the food is not enough for the ever increasing number.
  • Inadequate beddings was evidenced because of the few torn blankets we saw during our tour of the prison ward.
  • Over worked during the day.

The prisoners reported that on Sunday when they are supposed to have time to relax and pray, they are instructed to go to the fields to dig.

  • Inadequate food

Because of the increasing number of prisoners, food has not always been enough and this is also true that any time prisoners can be brought.

  • Improper medication

Because of the poor sanitation and housing conditions, diseases have always broke out. They suffer so much because of the low immune system in their bodies.

  • Torture during work
  • Inadequate utensils
  • No drinking water
  • Lack of enough troughs
  • Poor Sanitation .

These among others are areas to be considered as we continue ministering to the prisoners because the physical factors affect their concentration during the bible study sessions.

SCHOOL MINISTRY.

We had planned to visit some distant primary schools but because the members were not able to raise transport ,we had to extend our visits. Most primary school students leave school without knowing about Christ .However there is always opportunity  for the gospel in most primary schools in Uganda.

Religious differences create a gap which hinders the participation of other students, lack of enough bibles to encourage other students to participate in Evangelism activities, Inadequate transport for more volunteers since the schools are in distant areas. So we need more sensitization for the students to reduce the problem of religious differences which affect Evangelism in schools.

FOLLOW UP ON ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN.

We usually carry out follow up on the orphans and vulnerable children but there is always high expectation from care takers yet we haven’t   been able to extend sponsorship because of lack of enough money. Its our prayer that when opportunity comes these children will begin to realize their dreams. .

SENSITIZATION AGAINST HIV/AIDS AND MALARIA.

Disease is one of the greatest problems that affect the people of Uganda in addition to Poverty and Ignorance, so most of the Bible study teachings were integrated with sensitization against HIV/AIDS and Malaria.

It was carried out  in Bugembe  prison. The expected number of people to be covered was 200 (Two hundred ). 60% was sensitized.  Man power is needed  to offer counseling skills and Psycho social support, lack of testing materials such as microscopes, and chemicals to be used in the laboratory.

LIFE SKILLS TRAINING.

Life skills training such as hand crafts, entrepreneurship and other small business skills are provided among women and youths.20 people were expected to receive the skills in this month.

Unfortunately the above skills were not attained because of lack of trained facilitation to get skilled man power to offer such skills, lack of materials and cash to uplift the training process.

APPRECIATION.

Our sincere appreciation has to be extended to son center international for running an extra mile, encouraging and praying for us through the good and difficult times we have passed through to ensure the continuity of son center Uganda.

May the almighty God reward you abundantly.

Son Center Uganda.

SON CENTER UGANDA.

END OF JUNE REPORT 2009.

Objectives for the month /planned activities.

We take the initiative to appreciate the great mercies from the Lord for the wonderful ministry we experienced .The following activities were planned in the month of June.

  • School Ministry
  • Follow up on  Orphans and vulnerable children
  • Children’s bible study.
  • Prison ministry
  • Career guidance
  • Youth reproductive health.
  • Life skills training.
  • Positive parenting.
  • Hospital ministry
  • Sensitization against HIV/AIDS and Malaria.

SCHOOL MINISTRY.

We reached 2 Schools out of 10; So many students in Uganda need sessions like these because they uplift the spiritual standard and help them to make informed decisions that act as guidelines throughout their school time and future.

In the two secondary schools we were able to speak to 80 students and 60 students respectively in the scripture union sessions. The participation  of the students was so amazing, and we got testimonies after a few days that they needed us as many times as we would afford. However Religious differences create a gap which hinders the participation of other students, lack of enough bibles to encourage other students to participate in Evangelism activities, Inadequate transport for more volunteers since the schools are in distant areas. So we need more sensitization for the students to reduce the problem of religious differences which affect Evangelism in schools.

FOLLOW UP ON ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN.

We usually carry out follow up on the orphans and vulnerable children but there is always high expectation from the guardians (care takers) and yet we have not yet started the sponsorship program because of lack of enough money. Its our prayer that when opportunity comes these children will begin to realize their dreams. It is our prayer that we get more people to work with us. Most of them have great desire to get to school but haven’t had an opportunity. We hope that soon they will be able to access sponsorship.

BIBLE STUDY.

Bible study is carried out for both adults and children. The number of adults expected in the sessions was 50 and 100 children. We managed to carry out teaching to 50 people because of inadequate teaching materials and tracts to be used in homes and schools.

However provision of such teaching materials like bibles, projectors, DVDs and tracts can make the work easy.

PRISON MINISTRY.

We conducted bible study , guidance and counseling 8 times in the month  in Bugembe prison area and 69 people attended the sessions and 84 remained un attended to because of Inadequate facilitation in terms of Transport, Not having enough man power, Some prisons are not easily accessible due to rigidity of prison authorities. We need

Transport facilitation for more volunteers to the prison stations. Training of more volunteers to attain specific skills to handle prisoners, convincing of prison authorities, making of appointments and processing of permission letters.

Sensitization of   the people about the importance of Christianity and spirit of unity.

It was carried out among the youths, prisoners, women and infected children. The expected number of people to be covered was 250 (Two hundred and fifty). 70% of the groups needed testing for HIV/AIDS. However this was not done because of inadequate man power such as volunteers to offer counseling skills and Psycho social support, lack of testing materials such as microscopes, and chemicals to be used in the laboratory.

LIFE SKILLS TRAINING.

Life skills training such as hand crafts, entrepreneurship and other small business skills are provided among women and youths.50 people were expected to receive the skills in this month. Unfortunately the above skills were not attained because of lack of trained man power to offer such skills, lack of materials and cash to uplift the training process.

CAREER GUIDANCE.

This was carried out in Lord’s Meade Vocational secondary school in addition to the children that are registered by son center who are already in schools. However we had planned to reach 8 schools and this was not well achieved because of lack of man power willing to offer voluntary work, long distance between schools which causes transportation problems.

We need to improve the above activities by giving special attention to the following  issues;

More training of Man power to handle well HIV/AIDS activities, in addition we need medical equipment used in testing and counseling /support and care. Christian literature for awareness to improve spiritual understanding to the affected and infected.

For the youths and women, we need trained man power to keep them with handcraft, business and entrepreneurship skills which create Income generating activities for sustainability.

Orphans need Educational Sponsorship, scholastic materials and food supplies to realize their dreams in life.

Provision of Medication, clothing and food materials to the prisoners act as a necessity to improve their lives in the prisons, spiritual transformation through preaching the word of God which makes Bibles necessary for this work to be on going.

Our continual prayer is that we get more people to partner with us in the process of accomplishing the work that God started in us because for sure we know that it will be accomplished.

(Philippians 1:6)

God bless you abundantly.

SON CENTER UGANDA.

 END OF MAY REPORT 2009.
Objectives for the month /planned activities.

We thank God for the efforts during this month. A lot was planned but we managed to accomplish a few activities.

Door to door Evangelism
Discipleship.
Follow up.
Positive parenting.
Youth reproductive Health.
Life skills training
Follow up on  Orphans and vulnerable children
Children’s bible study.
Prison ministry
Hospital ministry
Career guidance
Sensitization against HIV/AIDS and Malaria.

EVANGELISM.

There is much we would communicate especially to our dear readers and well wishers about the amazing things God is accomplishing within and through us as we Evangelize. Our sincere gratitude is attributed to God the almighty for the great work He has done.

40 people got saved, 25 families reached.

Through our ministry,102 prisoners attended the bible study during the month. Some of them looked depressed but others had intentions of getting saved in their near future.

SENSITIZATION ON HIV/AIDS.

Our long term desire in one of Son Center programs; which had not yet taken off was sensitizing the people about HIVAIDS especially in places where these services are not accessed. For one to function in this world, they must have a physical body that is healthy. We sensitized 26 prisoners and 18 badly needed testing after listening to a testimony of the Lady living with AIDS and her confidence in God especially during the time.

CHILDREN BIBLE STUDY.

About 40 children attended bible study lessons during the month.

We are so excited about the children who come to attend our bible study classes our joy remains ignited because we have the hope that they will learn a lot and be able to apply the truth as they grow up. We believe strongly that the hand of God will help them wherever they will go.

SENSITIZATION ON HIV/AIDS.

One of the most exciting events was the launch of the sensitization program having encouraged 26 prisoners,18 were ready for  testing and needed immediate attention medication.

GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER.

We were so blessed to be part of the world day of prayer as people in Jinja gathered to ask God for forgiveness guidance and direction for, Uganda, Africa, and the world at large. Thousands of people gathered to pray for global issues as they were given ability.

FACILITATION OF THE PROGRAMS.

There is quite a lot needed to facilitate the programs .Last month we were only able to get house rent for the office premise but other programs were not facilitated and so most of them were not fulfilled as we had hoped. For example during meetings, Feeding, drinks, Transport for Volunteers, typing and printing of  monthly reports, communication Transport during follow up,  bibles for the children and adults ,children literature, scholastic materials, sound equipment, Sponsors for the registered few children, play materials like soccer balls, clothes for children and elderly people prisoners, among others requirements.

In all these things we have taken God to be sovereign. This gives us a mentality that we can not fail and can not be defeated. We remain victorious and thankful to Him. God is more than able to provide for our needs. We shall always look to Him for provision.

APPRECIATION

We sincerely appreciate your commitment especially in raising awareness of what is happening in Uganda. Thank you so much. You have gone an extra mile….

AREAS THAT NEED ASSISTANCE.

Its our sincere request to the fellow workers and well wishers to help out and extend the gospel to areas that have not known about Jesus Christ especially as we implement the following activities.

  • Open air Crusades
  • Seminars and conferences
  • School outreaches
  • Women programs.

RECOMMENDATIONS.

As for now the ministry needs a lot of funds to run the programs so Income generating activities such as Tents for hiring, motorbikes for public transportation, art and crafts, poultry and piggery, farming, candle making, would be appropriate for the development of the organization.

Together we can stand and profitably use the days loaned to us in this world.

God bless you abundantly.

Son Center Uganda.

END OF APRIL REPORT 2009.

SON CENTER UGANDA

The following were the objectives/ planned activities for the month of March.

Management meeting

  • Door to door mission.
  • Follow up and discipleship.
  • Positive parenting.
  • Youth reproductive Health.
  • Life skills
  • Follow up on Orphans and Vulnerable Children.
  • Children’s bible study and other activities.
  • Prison ministry
  • Hospital ministry
  • Career guidance
  • Sensitization against HIV/AIDS and Malaria.

Door to door Evangelism.

This was carried out with a group of youths and we went to Bugembe Maternity clinic area and Prison ward area speaking to 25 people in different areas. Many promised to get saved in their near future. This was on Good Friday when we visited them with a number of youths in Bugembe .Most of the people fear to get saved because of fear from parents who have different religious backgrounds.

This however was effective because we got to talk heart to heart with some of these people.

Children bible study and other activities.

One of the most exciting activities has been the bible study sessions carried out this month, because the response was so positive from our children and they loved the different lessons by the teachers.

Bible study sessions were carried out on Saturdays; the attendance was great and exciting. Though we did not have much to give them physically, spiritually we shared the message of Christ and that was our joy .We spoke to 45 children and 10 adults. We started Adult bible study every Tuesday at 5:00pm -6:00pm.

Our children have always shared with us physical problems that need attention and its our prayer that God will provide for their needs.

Prison ministry.

We preached and conducted bible study with 69 prisoners

Spoke to 2 women prisoners who later gave their lives to Jesus. With their children, Hadijja Kaudha, one lady promised to come to church and the other; is from Bulanga where we need to follow up.

A man who was suffering from Gonorrhea without proper medication was in this prison but we gave him some money for treatment but were not very sure which appropriate prescriptions. Medical facilities are of great help here especially in Prison and small clinics that lack some of the medical facilities .Most villages are not exposed to appropriate treatment. So they have to travel long distances and some of them just die because of poor transport facilities.

We discovered that clothes would be so useful to the prisoners and so during Easter we organized a meal and took some clothes to the prisoners. We do not condemn anybody for being in prison; our interest is to “Crush the problem not the criminal”

Spiritual guidance and counseling are the best ways of achieving this. The most amazing thing is that these bible sessions also impact the volunteers who go out with us to minister.

A few days later a prisoner came to our office and thanked us for helping him. He promised to come to church and testify of the goodness of the Lord. This gives son center great joy.

Life skills training.

We had greater plans for improving the lives of the people around us especially helping the youths who haven’t been able to go to school through teaching them livelihood skills but we had no start up funds to buy the materials needed .Youths can be involved in art and crafts, business (vocational skills)We however still hold greater plans to help them in a way that will sustain them. We have so many youths who have always come to our office asking for help and employment, this gives us a summary that many are on streets and are not able to pay their own fees

Hospital ministry.

We visited Bugembe Maternity clinic and talked to around 25 Adults. Most of the children were sick, we prayed for them and believed God to heal them from diseases like Malaria, Diarrhea and Measles. It’s important to help the spiritual life of these sick people because some of them have a negative attitude towards salvation. It’s amazing that that they give good audience during hard times especially in Hospital. Some of them promised to get saved in their near future. One Lady had given her life to Jesus Christ but had not started praying. So following up is very key especially for the new converts.

Follow up on orphans and vulnerable children.

Proper follow up for some of the orphans and vulnerable children was done only that some of the children come from distant places and reaching them is quite hard because of lack of transport so the need still remains and attention for the children especially those living with parents and guardians who cant afford some of the basic needs.  We have always discussed several ways to help the great number of children in Uganda that are suffering but have not been able to do much. We need people who can stand with us.

There are so many children in our area that were registered for attention but not accessed sponsorship yet. We still believe God to help us to run all these programs.

Youth reproductive Health.

Most of the youths in our area are   highly exposed to the HIV/AIDS because they do not attend so many sensitization work shops and this increases the chances of catching the disease. ,There is a great prevalence of diseases among the youths also because of ignorance and  because they do not want to  do testing but we intend to organize youth friendly sessions that cause them to come and attend in a they will be friendly to them and not selective.

Sensitization on HIV/AIDS and Malaria.

This has not been greatly successful because of lack of funds. We have people who are committed to helping the community but finances to hire the place and equipment needed for sensitization are still lacking. However we believe that much will be gone with time we shall be able to help the youths in our area.

Most young people love the better life even when they can not afford.

Summary.

We have always had meetings at the son center office to discuss the progress and review the successes of our programs and have kept our accounts in the files at the office.

In summary ,most of the activities and programs have not been implemented because of inadequacy of funds like Education, Women activities, sensitization ,capacity building because this can be greatly effective when we use the people in the community  themselves to cause development. However we believe God above all things add more people who will stand with in all our programs and aspirations

Thank you mike for your commitment to God’s work.

God bless you so much.

Son Center Uganda.

MARCH 2009 REPORT.

Objectives for the month /planned/ activities.

The following were the objectives/ planned activities for the month of March.

Management meeting

  • Door to door mission in Bugembe
  • Discipleship.
  • Follow up.
  • Positive parenting.
  • Youth reproductive Health.
  • Life skills
  • Follow up on OVCs (Orphans and Vulnerable Children)
  • Children’s days
  • Prison ministry
  • Hospital ministry
  • Children activities
  • Career guidance
  • Sensitization against HIV/AIDS and Malaria.

 EVANGELISM.

It was decreed by the Lord Jesus. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations baptizing the in the name of the father, the son and of the Holy spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. From this command we derive our authority and encouragement to go to towns, villages and schools to proclaim the message of the kingdom of God.

In our evangelism program this month we take the initiative to report that on the 4th –March -2009 we met a Lady who had been addicted to drugs . In our interaction with the Lady she said the major cause to her drinking was her daughter who disappeared and has never been recovered till today, in addition to her mother who died instantly. She now drinks to get rid of the thoughts and also pass time. She says this helps her to be relieved. In our perspective as son center this is equivalent to adding insult to injury. We are trying the level best to help her out of this problem.

 DOOR TO DOOR MINISTRY.

Door to door mission was carried out in Bugembe  in the month of march and  on 4th -3-2009 .We visited so many families but in just two families  five gave their lives to Jesus out of the 19 who  listened to the gospel. So many seemed to be willing to commit their lives but were not specific as to when they would do so. All  in all we thank God for the life changing message that they heard .

FOLLOW UP.

If you only proclaim the word and not go back to follow up the new converts this will be as good as doing laundry and drying the clothes on a dusty ground. The Lord said” and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
Matthew 28:20.

Son center strives to achieve this through our follow up program .In the same still we count it great Joy to be part of God’s plan of redeeming his people.

We acknowledge the fact that evangelism is incomplete if there has been no follow up of the new converts.  This helps us to do proper discipleship. This however calls for a good transportation network for this activity.

In follow up we strengthen the converts and monitor their progress and whether they are attached to a fellow ship of any kind a in school or in a bible believing  church some where .This is because we meet different people  in different areas.

 CHILD CARE SERVICES.

 Self awareness and esteem.

We do not just preach the gospel to the youths and children; we help to build their esteem and awareness.

The art of self awareness is to know ourselves well, what we do and don’t like, what our need s are how we feel .If we are sensitive towards ourselves, its easier to look after our needs.  Nurturing ourselves by meeting our own needs helps to boost our self esteem, makes it easier for us to nurture others and boost their self esteem. Understanding the effects of what happened to us when we were children helps us in our relationships with our children too.

Children grow up in different ways physically intellectually, socially and emotionally. We need to match our expectations to what they can actually do. They learn all the thousands of skills at different rates. What one child finds hard another finds it easy. If we expect too much or too little of them, children tend to be rebellious, frustrated and hungry or give up in despair. It’s helpful to them if we recognize each small step in their learning.

Bile study with the children was done for the four Saturdays and the response was amazing.

  • Life skills
  • Visiting
  • Birthday celebrations.
  • Medical facilities.

 YOUTH ACTIVITIES.

Sports and games.

Most of the activities that help us to reach out to the youths have not been fulfilled because of inadequacy of funds .However we have a soccer team through which we preach the gospel to the different youths .I was able to talk to a friend of mine who had a ball and so we have one for training purposes. As son center Uganda we believe that Moslems who can’t attend bible studies can at least be encourage to watch a match .Unfortunately we don’t have sports equipment.

Youth conferences, youth projects and singles outing have not also been implemented in March.

OUTREACHES TO PRIZONERS AND HOSPITALIZED.

This was done effectively in around 3 prison centers namely Bufulubi, Bugembe and Kirinya. In Bugembe area we reached 160 Prisoners in March to encourage and do bible study with them

EDUCATION FOR ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN.

We have a total of 56 children listed for sponsorship and other services but because of funds we were not able to pay their fees this term and are hoping to get  this worked upon as soon as possible. Esther was told by her father that she needed to go out as a prostitute and make money in order to pay for her fees. Early this term we were able to buy books, pens, sugar graph books plus a few more other scholastic materials to her settle in Pilkington high school Muguluka were she studies.

WOMEN AND ELDERLY.

We  carried out research and found out that the women  in our program areas  not only need fish but a hook to be able to get fish for themselves and their families because some of them  have families with so many children directly under their care so if we empower them this will create a difference in their lives. Most women that we visited had no clothes and whenever they would see us they would ask is there any thing for us?

SENSITIZATION ON HIV/AIDS AND CAPACITY BUILDING.

Implementation has been on a small scale because of  inadequate finances. However helping people in our community needs different ways of ensuring their attendace like provision of lunch for the day or drinks for the time you are willing to spend  them.

We would like to appreciate the great support of son center towards the work in uganda

May God bless  you.

Ezekiel
